Operation Renewed Hope
Uganda Clinic Updates
Tuesday - May 18, 2010
Tuesday morning breakfast was MREs at 6:15am and brought word to the team that the night before team member Judy Pingle had fallen and broke her leg. She received quite an experience as she waited at a local hospital for xrays and a cast. Please pray for Judy as she is a nurse and frequent team member. She is greatly disappointed in missing the clinics.
After breakfast and devotions the team excitedly loaded on the buses for their first day of clinic. Kyahi is a small valley village. The people were lined up waiting on us when we arrived. Quickly setting the clinic up we began seeing the patients. Progressing from registration to triage, then to see the doctors (medical, dental, and eye), next they went to a smaller more personal presentation of the Gospel and finally to the pharmacy to get their prescriptions. At the end of the clinic day over 250 people had gone through the clinic each receiving a clear presentation of the gospel by Dr. Farrell and also by the doctors and others. There were about 105 of the patients who stated they had asked Christ to save them.
That evening there was another evangelistic meeting in Kyahi held by Dr. Farrell. There were 250+ in attendance at that meeting. Over 100 people in that service professed Christ as Lord.
Returning to the Stensaas home we enjoyed
our evening meal of MREs and rice. Evening devotions came after dinner
and then much needed sleep for the team.
